Tomorrow, Sunday 2nd November, Rincón de la Victoria will hold the IV edition of the ‘KilómetroInclusivo´ (Inclusive Kilometre) race, in collaboration with the association of attention to diversity,Inclúyeme, as announced by the councillor of sport, Lydia Montes.
It’s a sporting event of non-competitive character, open to people with or without reduced mobility. “The objective of the run is mainly to facilitate the inclusion of people with a disability, to encourage sport within families and to offer a fun, recreational alternative”, says the mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado.
The day will also be a chance to collect un-perishable food products, a kilo for each entry, that will be collected just before the numbers are given out and will be donated to the ‘Economato Social de Rincón de la Victoria’, the low cost supermarket aimed to benefit certain people in Rincón de la Victoria.
This inclusive race will begin at 10:30, starting from the Tourist Office on the ‘PaseoMarítimo’ of Rincón de la Victoria. Half an hour before, the V edition of the half marathon will start; a race of 21 kilometres. “We intend to offer the opportunity for people with reduced mobility to participate in an event coinciding with a race of greater distance and that begins and ends in the same place”, says Montes.
Participants of the inclusive race can choose between two distances, 500 or 1000 metres, which will go along the PaseoMarítimo towards Torre de Benagalbón. Families will also be able to enjoy a day of fun with group dancing and games.
Entry costs 3 euros and you can enter today, Saturday 1st November, between 18:00 and 20:00 in the Tourist Office in Rincón de la Victoria, as well as up to 15 minutes before the race begins on Sunday. People that must assist participants with reduced mobility will not have to pay for entry.
