The sports department of Rincón de la Victoria’s town council, in collaboration with the non-governmental organisation helping the Ethiopian people; ABAY, holds the second Solidarity Race In Real Time for Ethiopia, which will take place tomorrow, the 15th March.
Rincón de la Victoria will participate in real time together with the other Spanish towns that are taking part in the race: Hondarribia, Laudio (Basque Country), Almussafes (Valencia), Tres Cantos (Madrid) and Walmara (Ethiopia). The initiative is aimed at supporting ABAY’s social project in the area, centred on the development of a sports school for children between 5 and 16 years.
According to the councillor of sport, Lydia Montes, “after the success of the first race, we are going to repeat the experience In Real Time in order to support, through sports, projects from organisations such as ABAY Ethiopia”.
On behalf of Borja Alejo, representative for ABAY, he has thanked the town council for its participation in the event and the initiative dedicated to the improvement of educative resources in Walmara in order to continue financing the sports schools, as well as strengthening the budget set aside for improving the sanitation in the Ethiopian town.
The race is 10km long, starting and finishing at the Tourist Office, situated along the seafront in Rincón de la Victoria. It will pass by the centre of La Cala del Moral and Torre de Benagalbón starting from 10am. The price of the race is 10 euros for registration, including a commemorative t-shirt, which can be collected when given your number. There will be trophies given for male and female categories and to the overall winner from all of the participating towns.
Registration online and in Triaworld has now closed, but if you’re still interested in taking part registration is still possible tomorrow between 8:30 and 9:30am.
