Today Rincón holds the Andalucian Children’s Taekwondo Championship

taekondoAccording to the coucillor of sports, Lydia Montes, Rincón de la Victoria has been converted into the Taekwondo capital with the celebration of the ‘Campeonato Andaluz de Infantil y Precadete’ (Andalucian Children’s Championships) today.

‘El Pabellón Cubierto Municipal Rubén Ruzafa’ in Torre de Benagalbón will hold the sporting test in which sports-people from Almería, Granada, Córdoba, Jaén and Málaga will participate. It will also serve as the qualifying round for the final which will be held in Antequera.
The event will begin at around 10am as “one of the most important awards at the Andalucian level, which will attract more than 500 participants from five provinces in male and female categories”, explains the councillor, who has shown her satisfaction in holding an event of this category and level.

The tests will be competed for in terms of age, weight, and sex and there will be trophies for each with a prize for first, second and third. Entrance is free.

Montes has also had words of thanks “for the confidence that the ‘Federación Andaluza de Taekwondo’ (The Andalucian Federation for Taekwondo), organiser of the event, has had in choosing Rincón de la Victoria as the base for this event that is being celebrated for the second year in out locality”.

Finally, the councillor has emphasised the important hobby that exists in Rincón de la Victoria generated through the creation of the ‘Escuela Municipal de Taekwondo’ (Municipal School of Taekwondo) which currently has nearly a hundred young students. “We begin the school’s fourth term after strengthening and encouraging the sport, which has more followers in our municipality every time”.
