On Monday 4th February there will be start up training workshops being held for the Time Bank. The idea being that it is an exchange of services such as house repair, small cleaning jobs, accompanying someone to the doctors, etc. and the payment method is time.
Lola Aguilar, the counsellor responsible, explains that it is a training workshop directed towards anyone wishing to participate.
The initiative promotes social relations and equality among all the districts. Each transaction is posted as a debit and a credit, and the value of the time is equal to all participants.
The 4th February aims to provide management tools to the people concerned. ‘It is an initiative that has worked well in Málaga and we should take their example to launch this initiative here.’ says the councillor.
The town hall is starting the initiative because it believes, ‘It is an initiative that promoted citizenship and shows the value of citizenship by offering the possibility to rely on neighbours for specific needs which is of benefit to the community in general’. The day has been subsidised by the delegation for equality and with the participation of the Diputación de Málaga, and has been organized by the Federation of Associations of Women Agora.
The times of the Event are 09.30 to 14.00 and 16.00 to 18.00. For more information call 952978294.
