The Poet Manuel Alcántara gives his name to the new Library in Torre de Benagalbón

bibliotecatorreThere is now a library in Torre de Benagalbón bearing the name of the poet and journalist who has lived in the municipality for almost 50 years.

It is located in the Avenida de la Torre 86, and covers almost 900 square metres. It includes children’s room and study room, as well as incorporating a garden for the use and enjoyment of the library users. Cultural activities will be planned for the future in this space.


The Councillor for culture, Antonio Jose Martin that the 2,387 volumes held includes 1,535 aimed at adults and 1,052 for children and young adults. The facilities are part of the network of public reading in Andalucía and can be the catalogue can be accessed by the internet.
