The 6th Feria de Muestras Puerta de la Axarquia had a change of venue this year. Normally held in the centre of Town it was held in Torre de Benagalbon. The general consensus of the participants was that this was a more comfortable venue which gave it a touch of modernity, but that the remoteness of the venue caused difficulty with parking.
Another failure cited n=by the participants was the lack of bars in the area. It was also felt that there was not enough promotion of the event. It was also held the same week as the Feria outlet in Malaga, which was promoted throughout the town.
There were, however, some positives; the recreational activities at various times attracted more people. Aprile Winterstein of Look & Find was very satisfied with the results and thinks they may do it again next year.
The President of ACERV, Jose Antonio Villodres, who organized the event, was positive in the number of companies that had participated and declared that Sunday was the best day. He said they would take the lessons learnt from this year and apply them to next year’s event.
As can be expected the main political parties disagreed on the value of the fair.
