Every Monday, those with an interest in archaeology come together at a seminar offered free by the Rincón municipality. The workshop will be held throughout the academic year 2012/2013. It will cover such topics as Phoenician burial sites, the organization of cities in Roman times and their contemporary history, amongst others.
Yesterday the course began with more than twenty people attending and Juan Manuel Muñoz as director of the seminar. It aims to deepen understanding of historical events and processes, and to raise awareness about the history of the province and its people. According to Muñoz, it is the only course of its kind and is open to participants from all walks of life.
“It is giving an overview to promote the protection and knowledge of the historical heritage of Málaga and Andalucía,” says the director, who went on to explain that there will be opportunities to visit the archaeological sites of Antequera and Ronda, as well as workshops to instruct participants in restoration work.
The seminar will be held every Monday from 21.00-22.30 until June in Municipal 1, Plaza Mirador,de la urbanización Las Pedrizas.
