Ruzafa wins the Xterra in Spain

ruzafa2Against the odds in 2008 Rubén Ruzafa won the Xterra World championship on his first attempt. Now in the inaugural event in Spain of this triathlon through the mountains of Spain Rubén Ruzafa won in a time that was 7 minutes less than his previous time.

He wasn’t well positioned after the swim, but he was still in touch with the leaders, Ben Allen and Roger Serrano. He was able to close the gap on them during the cycle ride, which he believes his best event.
In the final event, running, the race was between, Roger Serrano, the current Australian Champion, Ben Allen, The Briton Asa Shaw, The Frenchman Hector Guerra and Nicolas Lebrun and of course, Ruzafa.
They agreed that the last event was the most demanding, both physically and mentally. Allen came a close second.
