The Town of Rincon de la Victoria has been rated Young Municipality, a program where the Junta de Andalusia highlights the consistories who develop actions for the younger sector of the population.
According to the Councilor for Youth, Borja Ortiz this rating means that the Junta de Andalusia will propel support measures including state aid and subsidies lines for the implementation and development of programs and activities for youth.
With this certification, Rincon de la Victoria will be included in promotional social actions of the Ministry of the Presidency and Equality, will be taken into account with specific merit for awards of this Council and shall be entitled to apply for aid provided specifically within the budget program of the Andalusian Youth Institute for municipalities with this qualification.
Ortiz said “to obtain this recognition was a question of political will and commitment that the government team had with young people of Rincon. To be known as a Young Municipality is a public recognition of the efforts of Rincon de la Victoria to develop true youth policies and implement programs and activities involving services to young people, as we have been doing since the beginning of this legislature. “
For the former mayor, Manuel Antonio Rando, “it is a project that began in the legislature 2003-2007 and has finally come true after four years stacked away. The Youth of Rincon de la Victoria are in luck, since they will see the services provided to them increased by the Department of Youth. This is another step in the work being done for youth in the municipality.”
To become Young Municipality, the Department of Youth has had to work on different procedures, one of them getting the Youth Office designated as Youth Information Centre, recognition that the City got in February this year, be an associated organization in issuing the Youth Card, have specific infrastructure available to young people and have specific expenditure in Youth items in the annual budgets .
