Radio Victoria

radiovictoriaRadio Victoria has had a place on the airwaves of Rincón de la Victoria for more than 20 years. It began life with Antonio Pardon and has continued to offer information and entertainment to the residents in the area.

It is owned by the municipality, but is privately managed and from August 2012 world 101tv has taken charge of the station being heard on frequency 107.2.

The new management company has made big changes on technical and programming levels. The acoustic carpeted technical rooms have been renewed and professional programs installed on new computers along with updating of the central console and microphones. Everything needed to improve the quality, which may not be appreciated by the listeners at home, but make it possible for the radio to continue in a modern world.

The team

One of the veterans is the editor and announcer, Kiko Guerrero, who fronts the 11.00-14.00 show, in which he reviews local news, conducts interviews and discusses issues of a legal, sanitary, employment nature, consumer issues and associations. All this keeping local issues as the basis, says Guerrero. This journalist is also responsible for the news bulletin at 14.00.

The other main part is the morning show run by Roberto López, from 07.00 – 11.00 hours with news headlines every hour. Humour and jokes along with music to entertain ensure the day gets off on the right foot. This show is such a success that during October it has been adapted for television.

Also part of the daily team on the radio is the coordinator Macarena Albarracin and trainee journalist, Laura Carrasco. All their voices can be heard daily on Radio Victoria.

Radio Formula

Programming is being reorganized and will soon become the ultimate carrier, working roughly the same as commercial carriers to attract a younger audience primarily interested in modern musical hits, which come as part of the package of radio.

The format is borrowed from television and by uniting the two media of radio and television it hopes to cover all that is of interest to the listeners in the municipality. For this reason Channel 101 tv may also carry information pertinent to Rincón de la Victoria.
Radio continues to be the medium that provides an immediacy that makes the difference. Even so it has had to adapt to modern times and therefore Rincón de la Victoria station offers images for Channel 101tv and uses social networks and the web to ensure continuous contact with listeners to offer a high quality service.
