Tonight at 21:00 in the Peṅa El Piyayo sees the start of the first Spanish song contest which is open to all who want to enjoy the event.
Every Friday in May will see the preliminary rounds where the eight participants will be judged. The selected 16 will advance to the semi-finals on 21st to 28th June and the finalists will perform a gala on 14th July in the Auditorium of the enclosure in the Feria de Rincon de la Victoria.
The winner will receive a cheque for €1000, second receives €700, €500 for third place and 4th and 5th will receive €150.
There will also be a show at the Peṅa flamenco El Piyayo on 26th July where a memorial trophy will be presented.
‘Los Porrina’ Flemish Day
El Piyayo has organized a Flemish day ‘la porrina’ for 18th May to highlight the importance of Flamenco. There will be a master class in percussion and guitar at 12:00 from the hands of Paquete, Piraṅa, Sabu and Ramon Porrina.
Half day attendees can enjoy paella, wine and dessert. On the evening of the same day at 22:00 there will be a flamenco recital with the aforementioned artists and including Chato Del Málaga and Rubén Díaz.
