On 19, 20 and 21st of October, the Centre for Málaga Folklore in Benagalbón will hold a ‘Festival de los Cantes de Málaga’. There will be presentations, workshops, performances and a market of flamenco gastronomy and tapa.
Málaga citizens such as Antonio Mandly, Pepe Luque, Antonio Contreras and Ramón Soler, will be amongst others participating in presentations and round tables of the ‘cantes de Málaga’. Workshops will be based around the revival of the ‘cantes de Ara’ and the ‘cantes de Málaga’, the latter being aimed primarily at children.
The event is being presented by the Deputy for Culture and Sports, Marina Bravo and the Councillor for Culture of Rincón de la Victoria, Antonio José Martin. It is part of the autumn Flamenco program to promote this art that is so embedded in the roots of Andalucía.

In addition to this festival there will be two shows on 9th and 23rd of October with singers such as, Manuel de la Curra, Rocio Santiago or La Tana, dancers such as El Remache or Carmen Ledema and guitarists like Juani Santiago Antonio Moya, amongst others.
Other activities that will take place in the centre in Benagalbón will be cinema representations of the origins of Flamenco, the casual stalls and cafes, the singers and the shows. All this will show the Andalucian culture in an audiovisual format. These sessions will take place on 10th and 24th October. 7th and 21st November and 12th December.
Tickets and invitations may be collected 2 hours before performances taking place in the ‘Edgar Neville’ auditorium and 2 days before the start of the workshops in the Folklore Centre in Benagalbón from 10.00 – 14.00.
