Employment workshop “Serrezuela” has qualified 22 unemployed in Rincón de la Victoria

The employment workshop known as “Serrezuela”, which was closed yesterday, has allowed 22 unemployed people to gain a professional qualification in construction and maintenance of urban environments. This training will allow its students ‘to confront their search for work with a greater chance of success’, as stated by the mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado. The closing session was led by the delegate of Education, Culture and Sport, Patricia Alba, and the councillor of APAL Delphos, Manuel Sánchez.

This employment workshop has meant that more than thirty jobs have been done in order to improve the urban environment in different places around the locality.


La Junta de Andalucía, via the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, along with Rincón de la Victoria’s town council, via APAL Delphos, have been the entities in charge of the development and execution of the workshop, in which its students have acquired theoretical and practical training over the course of 12 months.

In order for this employment workshop to take place,it has beengranted 491,000 euros, co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Ministry of Education, a quantity which has also been helped by the town council’s contributionof 72,378 euros intended for this training.

Among the activities carried out by the students of this workshop are the ‘La Serrezuela’ park, a space of 4000 square metres also with a dog zone and the ‘Paseo Ecológico de Los Rubios’, a walkway 900 metres long along which they have recuperated the vegetative dune species. As well as this, they have carried out other jobs such as the reduction of architectural impediments, to improve the accessibility for people with reduced mobility, the repainting of street furniture, improving steelwork in different places, tidying and looking after both Huerta Julián and La Aurora parks and making the ditches wider along access roads for vehicular traffic.
