The Asociación Rincrea yesterday organized it s first forum of culture entitled” Bezmiliana in the Granada War”. Andrés García Maldonado talked about the history behind the four areas that make up the municipality of Rincón de la Victoria, and how they were geographically linked under the name Bezmiliana.
Rincrea aims to propose to the council to organize activities that will strengthen this historical bond between La Cala Del Moral, Rincón de la Victoria, Torre de Benagalbón and Benagalbón.
García Madonado spoke briefly on the history of the years in which the Crown of Castile fought to break the stronghold of the Muslim Granada. He talked about the battles, the destruction of fortresses, the conversion of villages to Christianity and the peace treaties that were the features of these years, when a culture of intolerance pervaded the lands.
“Intolerance has always existed, but it only benefits those in power” stated the president of Rincrea. We should learn the lessons from history and strive to promote a feeling of union within the four villages.
Rincrea wants to involve all the residents in the municipality to contribute to its development and environment. It is struggling to get all of us involved in the forums and the debates organized by Rincrea.
