African rhythms come to Rincon

silaSilamakha Coulibaly is a Senegalese dancer who has come to Rincon de la Victoria to teach indigenous dances from Africa. He has been in Spain since 2001 and has taught dance groups in Madrid, Burgos and Málaga, among other places. He has a dance and percussion group «Borom Tamba» with which he has already appeared in the province.

Colubaly explains that African dance is a very expressive choreographic art, with lots of movement and vitality so students leave the lessons full of energy . «You leave very active, the music conveys feelings which you will develop with your body.» He has studied dance since he was 18 and has been part of the National Ballet of Senegal.

He came to our town this summer to stay because he says he likes the place, climate and its people, the open and friendly y character they have and for this reason he would like to give class in Rincon de la Victoria with this dance from the neighboring continent.
It is possible to adapt to different ages and sometimes perform master classes with live musicians to make the environment more authentic. Coulibaly wants to start up a dance group in the association Gente en Movimiento, so if you’re interested you can contact by e-mail: or 656 342 028.
